My first trip to the Netherlands didn’t have to try hard to convince me to come back someday.

If you’ve ever tried to take a photo of the Moon with a smartphone, you know the disappointment of seeing a tiny dot on the screen. I’ve always been fascinated by our shape-morphing satellite, so I’ve made quite a few attempts. The result of my first somewhat successful try is the photo above - taken with a smartphone through my dad’s binoculars.

Another photo that holds some sentimental value for me. 2012. One of the first times I got my hands on my sister’s digital camera, determined to capture something specific. A bit of luck - a monitor in the background and a glass mug with a filmstrip-style perforated print - combined with dozens of attempts, resulted in something that far exceeded my expectations.

Posting this average photo as a first one, because there's a personal story behind it. 2010. I got my hands on my older brother’s old phone - a Sony Ericsson C902, with a 5-megapixel camera :O I gave it a try, and I still remember the feeling when I opened that photo on my computer screen. I was blown away by the sharpness and vibrant colors. I think it was, in some way, a formative experience for me. Seems like a fitting photo to open this little photography showcase.
